Nicci Attfield from IndieReader writes, "Does it actually help to get to know our demons? The author's exploration of what we do when we actually face them is intriguing. CAREFUL READERS is for fans of magical realism, depth psychology, and beautiful prose. A must read."

I love that Nicci cites two passages directly from the book in their review. I am so grateful for the close reading. When I was an instructor, I sometimes challenged my students by telling them to stick to the text. It was a reminder to ground their reading in the page in order to offer up an opinion that enhances the work. This points to literary criticism versus book reviews. The role of the former is to add value to works through informed perspectives, whereas the latter might ask whether a work is worth your time at all. I am honored that my book was worthy of Nicci's time.
